welcome introductions

Hello and welcome to my little blog, all about the lead up to my big day in June 2013. All the highs, lows and middling bits in my struggle to get things sorted

My name is Nina and I have been with my H2B for 3 years, engaged for 2. We live together in a little 2 up 2 down in rural lincolnshire and are very happy there. We have been trying to plan our wedding three times now, but something always got in the way. All the normal stuff like money and moving house have got in our way but this is definitely 3rd time lucky. A lot is now sorted and i'm getting excited for the big day

Family has been the biggest thing involved in our wedding, and not always for the good. My family are the ones that have been causing the most problems. I found "the" dress in Sept last year and when we paid the deposit my dad promised that he would pay half of the remaining amount (£150). It's now nearly a year later and the money has not appeared and the wedding dress is in my wardrobe after using most of my wages to pay for it. I have since asked him for the money to pay for the disco or the photographer but still to no avail. He tells me he doesn't have it, yet goes out and buys an iPad!!! And there's no point even trying to ask my mum, she wouldn't even let me borrow her birth certificate to give notice!!!

H2B's family on the other hand... Nan has paid deposit for the photographer and has also bought vases for my centrepieces, MiL2B has paid for most of my decorations for the reception venue, sorted out the caterer, knows someone for the cake...it makes me feel sick to know that they're doing all this and my family aren't even bothering...

On to happier notes though. Lots of stuff already sorted and just over 9 months to go, that's only 36 weeks!!!! My dress was the first thing I bought, and was a bargain at £430 including alterations, which is a good thing as i've already lost 2.5 stone and with another 2 to go i will definitely need them by June. The next thing I bought was my bridesmaids dresses. Well... my BMs did anyways. Three BMs for my wedding (although one has just told me she's moving to another village) and their dresses were even more of a bargain at £9 each in the January sales :)

Then my bouquet, a gorgeous drop bouquet of foam roses from Ebay (the bride's best friend) along with three small bouquets of ivory foam roses for my BMs. Centrepieces were finally designed by me, and slowly gathered all the bits and bobs together, with the final pieces bought the day before yesterday and finally all put together (I will take photos of my bouquets and stuff soon so you can see). The purple roses for the centrepieces were found by fate and an accidental trip to the loo in the local garden centre!!

My shoes were also from the january sales and only £5 from Next :) jewellery was a gift from BM/MoH. Photographer deposit was paid last month and our next door neighbour is a videographer so we may have that sorted. Invites are made, some already gone out, I know its a little early but I've only given them to people that I know would come.

UK Bride website
The site that has helped me through all this. Lots of tips and advice on the forum and also lots of help with my guestlist and table plans. This site has been an absolute godsend and is based only a short way down the road from me. We received a free engagement shoot when we joined up and now me and H2B are part of the advertising pictures for it :) Yes, you are reading a celebrity blog :P

Anyhow, thats enough from me. I will update as and when things develop and probably moan once in a while :)

See you soon

Nina xx
